My name is Claudia Hanson and I am the owner and Manager of Woodlands Nursery. I have a BA in Early Years Education and Childhood Studies. I started work as a childcare provider in 1999. In 2003 I opened my nursery as Rainbow Playhome. More recently, in 2015 the name changed to Woodlands Nursery and our last Ofsted inspection was graded as Good. Over the past 16 years I have been providing a homely environment where children can develop and learn through play.
We provide a balance between child-initiated and adult-led activities. Therefore, we plan according to each child's individual interests and needs. We use the Statutory Framework Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as a guide for children's assessments and to evaluate their learning and holistic development. I am a passionate advocate for healthy eating. Our setting provides nutritious and freshly cooked meals cooked here on site on a daily basis. My role at Woodlands is to provide a high quality of service to support the children’s learning and wellbeing. I manage my team with a strong emphasis on professional development and I also aim to develop close partnerships with parents and multi-agencies.

Charlotte — Early Years Teacher
My name is Charlotte and I am the Early Years Teacher in Rabbits room. I completed my Early Years Initial Teacher Training (Level 7) in July 2017 and started my first role as an Early Years Teacher at Woodlands Nursery in September 2017.
Prior to this role, I worked with children with special educational needs in their home and educational settings and I taught English in South Korea for one year. I completed a Psychology (BSc) degree in 2009 where my interest in child development began. In my spare time I love to travel and go to the theatre.
Josie — Level 3 Early Years Practitioner
My name is Josie and I started my role as a senior childcare practitioner at Woodlands Nursery in August 2017. I have worked in the educational sector for 10 years and completed my Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice in 2011. In my previous workplace, I trained as a deputy manager for 1 year.
Prior to working in a nursery setting, I was a part-time registered childminder in my own home for 5 years as well as being a mum and raising two boys. I also helped, on a voluntary basis, to run a weekly parent and toddler group in High Barnet for two years. I have interests in music and play the flute and am learning the cello. I also enjoy watching good films and going for walks with the dog.
