Funding

The scheme is divided into different entitlements, depending on the child’s age and family circumstances.

As Woodlands Nursery is open all year round, that is, 51 weeks a year, we stretch the same number of hours provided by the government over 51 weeks rather than 38 weeks per year. We therefore provide the same number of funded hours spread over more weeks, giving 11 and 22 funded hours over 51 weeks instead of 15 and 30 funded hours over 38 weeks:

• Universal funding: 11 funded hours per week

• Extended funding: 22 funded hours per week

The total annual entitlement remains the same; only the weekly distribution is adjusted. This allows children to benefit from consistent access to the nursery throughout the year while still receiving the same number of government-allocated funded hours.
